The History of Humble Pie Entertainment

Humble Pie Entertainment came into existence in March 2007 after two individuals merged their years of experience, skills, qualifications and passion for the entertainment industry together. They established a unique entity which they believe will leave an eternal impact! Peet Louw founded NIKAO Network Ministry in 1997. He was in full time ministry for 6 years and in this time he completed various project management, marketing management and budgeting courses. In 2003 he was approached by film company, Eternal Pictures, to market the film Lazarus Phenomenon throughout South Africa, America, England and Europe. Peet returned back to South Africa in 2004 and established Christian Resource Network, a one stop Christian resource distribution and marketing company. Peet was approached by Global Creative Studios to form part of the core team which made the film Faith Like Potatoes a huge success. He implemented and managed a multi distribution platform as part of the marketing plan for the film in 2006, this is where Pieter Pohl met Peet. Peet resigned from Global Creative Studios early in 2007 and with the assistance of Pieter, they continued with Christian Resource Network. Pieter Pohl has a huge passion for the entertainment industry. He was a student at Stellenbosch University and completed a B.Com degree. In 2007 he was elected onto the Student Representative Council. During the past 3 years this young entrepreneur has engaged in many small projects. With the culmination of these two individuals a new synergy was formed, one which is destined to be a huge success - Humble Pie Entertainment!

  • The management has more than 19 years accumulated business and marketing experience, networking with many South African media, organizations and entertainment companies.
  • Years of experience in community work, community projects and event co-ordination.
  • Peet Louw was involved with local and international marketing and implementing of the Film "The Lazarus Phenomenon" for Eternal Pictures.
  • Peet Louw was involved with the implementation and marketing of the multi-distribution network for the film 'Faith like Potatoes" for Global Creative Studios.
  • National Marketing for the film "One night with the King" that was released by Ster-Kinekor.
  • Hosting and facilitating Premiere Church Screening events for the film "Flywheel" (From the creators of Facing the Giants) together with Sarepta Music and Integrity Media Africa.
  • Marketing, Organized and invited key leaders to 18 national premieres in Nu Metro theatres with Adworx and MFILMS for the animated film "The Ten Commandments".
  • Marketing, ticket sales and product launch for "Planetshakers" with Jire and Transformation Africa.
  • National marketing and Screenings of the film "Unidentified" in Independent Theatres and churches for Entertainment Unlimited.
  • National DVD retail marketing campaign and community screening events in association with Ster-Kinekor Home Entertainment for the film "One Night with the King" in South Africa.
  • Developed, produced, marketed and distributed the "Who Is Jesus" DVD as a resource tool for churches and communities in South Africa.
  • National product distribution and production of various DVD titles for various companies and organisations.
  • Marketing and Promotion of Passion Cape Town, 13 August 2008. This was part of Passion's World Tour 2008 aimed at uniting students globally for His Renown.
  • Marketed and presented four (4) national film premiere events for the film "Son of Man" to the Christian communities in SA in raising their voice concerning the soundness of the film's message.
  • Marketed and presented three (3) film premiere events in co-operation with all major pro-life organizations in SA, in launching a pro-life campaign with the film "Bella".
  • Marketing and screening more than 20 films for community screenings to the NGO's, schools and churches in SA through an alternate distribution platform.
  • Namrock 2008: Captured, produced and marketing the DVD of a live wilderness worship experience in Namibia.
  • Angus Buchan Newlands live events: Captured, produced and marketing the DVD, and compiling a unique disciplining outreach tool for SA.
  • Marketing and distributing "LinkWay" music group.
  • Marketing and distributing "Surrender Band".
  • National Alternative Distribution Platform for Screenings and On-screen Advertising through Churches & InterCape Bus services. (Reaching 1.1 m people annually)
  • National marketing campaign with premieres and community screenings events for the film "Tornado and the Kalahari Horse Whisperer" directed by Regardt van den Bergh for Aquavision and Ster-Kinekor.
  • Released the Film "Faith Happens" theatrically in South Africa with a national marketing campaign and released the rental and retail DVD.
  • Released "God of Wonders" and "The Calling" on DVD nationally.
  • Currently Humble Pie Entertainment and Brettian Productions are the driving force behind an exciting new campaign "REFRESH" – Movies and Music to Refresh Your Faith.
  • Humble Pie Entertainment also manages the national Christian Media Forum.
