Special Feature

Show a movie in your community and make an eternal impact!

Stories have always been at the center of the Christian faith. Everyone can think of a story which has impacted their life. Stories have touched hearts and challenged the way we think about issues in life and our faith.

Today, gifted filmmakers are telling amazing stories which will refresh your faith and give you hope! These movies provide powerful parables in a language our culture understands and are drawn to.

Because DVDs are only licensed for home or personal viewing, a movie event / screening license is required to show all these movies to your church, ministry, school, business or other organization. Through a partnership with Brettian Productions, Aquavision Productions, Side By Side Films, Eternal Productions, Animated Family Films, Eternal Pictures, Testimony Pictures, Nu Metro, Ster - Kinekor, you can purchase an official Screening License to host a movie screening event of these great movie titles!

Host special congregational events, ministry-specific showings, or open your doors to your community to impact their lives with these movies.

To read more about each movie title you can show at an event, click on the movie picture on the film page.

  • After the movie

We hope you find the following information helpful.

Why show movies?

Goals:

  1. To get the message and the Gospel out to as many people as possible.
  2. To give the local church an opportunity to encourage their members to get involved in their ongoing ministries and outreaches.
  3. To provide wholesome entertainment.

Who is the target audience?

Those who are interested in the word of God or looking for an uplifting entertaining community event.

The benefits of hosting a church screening

  1. It’s an outreach opportunity to non-members
  2. To expand the audience’s worldview.
  3. To ignite passion among people.
  4. The local Church can use the film to promote and encourage members to get involved with the church’s own missions or outreaches.

How to host a movie event?

  1. First of all you need to decide on a movie that you would like to screen at your church and a specific date.
  2. After you have made your choice of movie you must download the registration, unashamedly ethical forms and the rules and regulations document, complete it and then send it back to us.
  3. Forms to be completed:
    • Registration form.
    • Unashamedly ethical commitment form.
  4. On the Registration Form, a choice must also be made between the options provided per movie. (All these options are explained on the registration form)
Example: Ticket sales, Offering or Fixed agree deal.

Bulletin Announcement

You can start by putting announcements in the bulletin boards at your Church for upcoming screenings 2-3 weeks before the actual screening.
Example:
We are hosting a screening of the movie ________________________ this is a great opportunity to bring guests and friends. Join us on DATE & TIME…

Posters

You can put up posters around the church grounds or in your community. Local coffee shops, libraries, and grocery stores often have community bulletin boards where upcoming events can be displayed. Posters will be provided by Humble Pie Entertainment.

Movie Preview / Trailer

On the Promo DVD you will receive from Humble Pie Entertainment there is a trailer of the movie, by showing this in one or more services to promote the movie screening has proven to be extremely effective in getting people to attend the screenings. When people see the trailer they will be more likely to attend the event. Visual marketing has proven to be much more effective than just print media.

After the movie events/screening:

After having your event all proceeds as per the agreement on the registration form, must be paid into Humble Pie Entertainment’s account.
The “Screening Program DVD” must also be sent back to HPE as soon as possible after your movie screening event, all promo DVD’s and posters can be kept.

For those of you who want to read more and do not understand why you need to follow these procedures on any of the films listed on our website.

What is a Film Show / Screening?

A film screening allows you to show a film at a public gathering (e.g. church, school, cinema, outreach etc.) Please note that by law it is illegal to show any movie or DVD to a group of people, e.g. to a church, outreach event, etc. without obtaining written permission from the relevant studios/distributors in the country you are showing the film (e.g. Humble Pie Entertainment (HPE)).

Types of Movie Shows / Screenings:

Cinema Screenings:

Selected Nu Metro, Ster-Kinekor and Independent cinemas will screen some of the films from time to time or as HPE is partnering with a specific cinema group in South Africa. Where these cinemas are releasing the film, no school or church will be allowed to host screenings before a certain date. We would like to encourage all interested groups to do block bookings in nearby cinemas during this time if any film would be screened by a nearby cinema. Please book through HPE.

Other Screenings- Community Film Screenings:

Where there are no official cinemas screening this film, schools, churches, clubs, hospitals, hotels and prisons are welcome to host screenings from the film’s release date as indicated on the document of the specific film. Should your town have a cinema, one may only host an event after the cinema run. We would like to encourage churches in all towns and cities to host a movie night or two once every month with one of the films from Humble Pie Entertainment.

We would also encourage individuals to help us in organizing various events and screenings in their communities in community halls, old age homes, prisons etc. Please see the information on how to host/request a screening in your community.
