About 'Film Screenings':
What is a Film Screening (Movie show / film exhibition)?
A film screening license / site license allows you to show a film in a public gathering /venue to a group of people e.g. 10 or more. Please note that by law it is illegal to show any movie on DVD to a group of people, e.g. in a theatre, to a church, outreach event, etc. without obtaining written permission / license from the relevant producers / studios / distributors in the specific geographic territory / country. Also the person, entity and / or the organization presenting the film must be registered as an exhibitor by the Film and Publications Board of South Africa (FPB). If the person, entity and / or organization is selling any DVD’s they also needs to be registered as a reseller or distributor at the FPB.
 
Types of Screenings:
Theatre / Cinema Screenings:
Main theatre groups and selected independent cinemas will screen a film in South Africa. Where these cinemas are releasing the film, no schools or churches will be allowed to host screenings. We would like to encourage all interested groups to do block bookings in nearby cinemas during the time the film will be screened at a nearby cinema.
Other Screenings:
Where there are no official cinemas screening this film, schools, churches, clubs, coaches, hospitals, hotels and prisons are welcome to host screening events. Should your town have a cinema, one may only host an event on request. Please see information on how to host/request a screening.

We would also encourage individuals to help us in organizing various events and screenings in their communities in community halls, old age homes, prisons etc. Please see the information on how to host/request a screening in your community.

• Cell Groups
• Other specific interest groups related to the film or theme of campaign
